Vercingetorix is a Legendary Infantry commander with Leadership, Versatility, and Support specialties. His main role is not to be a pure damage dealer, but to support nearby allied troops with attack buffs, shields, rage generation, and additional damage effects.
The key to playing Vercingetorix is to keep his march close to your other allied marches. His active skill gives up to four nearby friendly troops 30% Attack for 5 seconds, while also slowing nearby enemies. His basic attacks can also provide a shield to the nearby friendly troop with the lowest HP.
For open-field battles, use Vercingetorix as a support march rather than sending him alone into a fight. Stay near your alliance’s main group so his buffs and shields can benefit multiple marches. When his shield breaks, the affected troop receives 100 Rage and 10% more normal damage, with the normal-damage bonus stacking up to four times. This makes his support particularly useful during prolonged fights.
Vercingetorix also works well when his troop contains only one unit type, because this provides 20% damage reduction and 10% Rage Gain Speed. Therefore, if you are building him specifically for infantry, using a full infantry march is a strong option. His kit also allows mixed troops to gain 25% more damage, so the choice depends on how you intend to use the commander.
Another important part of his gameplay is his Rage reduction. His basic attacks have a chance to reduce the enemy’s Rage by 50, and whenever he causes an enemy to lose 100 Rage, his troop gains additional direct/combo/smite damage, stacking up to four times. This means Vercingetorix becomes more valuable in extended open-field engagements where he can repeatedly attack the same enemy.
